Harry Potter fans: If you were married to a witch/wizard, would you enroll your kids to a muggle school?

Why, or why not?Harry Potter fans: If you were married to a witch/wizard, would you enroll your kids to a muggle school?
Well I suppose I have to answer this out of character and, as a muggle what a downer. :P

I don't see any reason not to send them to a regular school between kindergarten and, 5 grade. I mean most muggle-borns attend one and they seem to do just fine. Rowling did mention young witches and wizards never completely fit in with muggle children, and that they're usually singled out as being weird. Still I don't think that makes much of difference, in comparison to what kids in real life deal with considering the fact that almost EVERYONE gets singled out in school for something, you're either to skinny, to fat, to dumb, to smart, buck toothed, four eyed etc. While you or a hired tutor could teach your kid, math, English, history, science etc, there are certain things school teaches you that you just can't learn at home. The first is coping with bullies, Hogwarts is going to be full of them, the second is dealing with obnoxious teachers, between kindger and fifth it's almost a grantee they're going to end up with a teacher they can't stand, this is actually good training for contending with Snape. :P The third and probably most important one would be to make freinds, to socialize with people their own age. So what if they're weird I was weird and I had friends. The only reason Harry was unable to have any wasn't because he was a wizard but, because Dudley's gang would have terrorized any kid who dared get within a 10ft radius of Harry that had good intentions. I've always thought muggle-borns and half-bloods with parents that go along had it the best. They get to enjoy the best of both worlds, the use of magic and, the use of technology. If they learn to coexist in both worlds, and have people they can fall friend, both magical and muggle then they have it made. (This of course super out of character :P)Harry Potter fans: If you were married to a witch/wizard, would you enroll your kids to a muggle school?
i would send them to muggle school untill t hey were old enough to go to a wizard school. it would help broden their education.
i would put them in school untill they are 11 then without a doubt i would put'em in hogwarts !!!! ^_^
I would not let my children go near the school. My children would be taught by me. They would learn the ancient traditions of the pureblood families. And when they turned eleven they would go to Hogwarts or any other magical school.
It really depends on where I live. If I lived in a ';wizarding neighborhood'; then I would just let my kids stay home and then they can hang out with other wizards/witches so they can get to know some people before going to Hogwarts.

BUT if I lived in a muggle neighborhood, I would let them go to school, make friends, and then when they come back during the summer from Hogwarts, they have some people they know and are friends with, so they aren't alone all summer. They can tell their friends their going to a fancy private school. =D
I would probally send them to a wizarding school unless they didn't want to and then maybe have them to some muggle stuff during the summer just in case
It would depend if the child is a witch/wizard or a squib. I'll send him/her to the school that is best suited to his/her abilities.
My dear @ce, if I have had the chance to have little Bellamorts or Voldellas in tow, you know I would not! They need not be exposed to those pitiful souls. That would be an insult! All they need to know before Hogwarts they would learn from me. :D
There's no contest in that. Hogwarts! Who wouldn't want to be a wizard? But, I'd be mad that i'm not a wizard.
Oh course I would enroll my children into a muggle school from kindergarten, to 5th grade because they need to learn the basics of education(like reading, math, social studies, etc.). Plus, they also need to interact with other children, learn more discipline, and be less ignorant of the world around them.

However, once they turn 11 though, I'm sending them straight to Hogwarts without second thought. By enrolling them into a muggle school, they will not only have a enjoyable time in Hogwarts and in the wizarding world; they would function fine in the real world as well.
If they were a witch/wizard I would send them to wizarding school, unless they wanted muggle schooling instead or if they wanted to be taught from home.

While they are a child I would probably teach them muggle schooling myself because:

(a) If they are magical, there could be 'incidents' (such as some of the accidental magic that Harry did) at a school

(b) Unless I let them remain completely ignorant about magic, they probably wouldn't be able to resist telling their friends.

However, I would make sure they remain educated and appreciative of muggle things. As much as I love the Weasley family, I wouldn't want my children to be so naive to the world around them (ex.-Ron not knowing how to use a telephone in the 3rd book. I know they don't have use for a lot of muggle things and electronics don't work in places like Hogwarts, but for everyday home usage things like telephones are much more effective than sending owls)
i'd definitly send them to wizard/witch craft school, i would
not if they showed a propensity toward the arts! let them grow in their talents and learn in a safe environment

celebrate diversity.... but safely kids esp. are mean!!
i'd probably send them to muggle school, so they can develop social skills and learn mathematics and english, etc. since i would not be suited to teach them all that at home. then i'd send them to hogwarts when the time came for that. i'd just say they were going to boarding school for gifted children. lol
I would. They need to get the sense of the world around them! I mean, for one thing, they need to learn how to make friends other than the parents saying, ';Oh, this girl is from a wizarding family. Play and see if you like each other'; They need to make their own desicions.

You know how ignorant the Weasleys were to the Muggle world, even with Mr. Weasley as their father!

They need to know how to deal with teachers that aren't their parents, they need to learn serious discipline, they need to know how to make choices- these are skills used in the Wizarding world too! Plus, who knows when your going to need to use something from the Muggle world in the Wizarding world? Who knows when your going to have to hide in the Muggle world from an evil wizard?

I would like to have a mixture in my household if I was married to a wizard. Have microwaves, TV, and all those things, but have them exposed to magic as well. They should be part of both worlds as much as possible.

Besides, what if they turn out a Squib? Well, they continue Muggle schooling. Simple, no catch up needed, not unfarmilar places or things.
oh never!!!!!!

my kids would go to Hogwarts, hands down!!

even though its not the same without Dumbledore, its still awesome

i'd love for them to explore the secret passages and learn such great magic taught by the best of people!
I would probably send them to muggle school because I am a teacher and I wouldn't want to pay for a babysitter/tutor...LOL I know that sounds lame but it's honest!
Most certainly not. I learned few things of importance at muggle school.
well, i'd choose the most realistic answer: Yes. Because if you homeschool them, you're depriving them of all public school experiences, like friends, the importance of studying, and of course, bullies. If you homeschool them, then send them off to Hogwarts or any other magical school (depending on your location) they won't have a CLUE about bullies. That's the biggest problem. I mean, let's assume Draco Malfoy (sorry Draco lovers) comes up and makes fun of your child. Then what? Probably they'd cry or give in to verbal assault, and then get picked on for the rest of their magical life. unless they happen to have awesome friends (like the marauders or golden trio) who'd stick up for them.
I would send em to Hogwarts so they can realise their full potential as witches/wizards!! I %26lt;3 Harry Potter
If they have magical abilities I would teach them at home, as muggle world isn't for 5, 6, 7 years old witch-wizard.

Kids at that age are too young to understand importance of hiding something, especially something as cool as magic is, and could suffer emotionally and maybe even physically for letting their abilities to be visible.

Ppl usually are cruel to difference and things that they don't understand.

If they don't show any magical abilities, than we would send them to regular school.

Also, it would depend on where we live, you know that it is quite hard to avoid public schools if kid is once registered in muggle world and very hard to become part of the system if spending most of life in magic world.
I'd definitely send my child to a

school up until they were eleven

years old. I would think that, despite

it not being mentioned in the

Harry Potter books, there were schools

for children so they could learn some math,

English, writing, science, etc.

They kind of need to know basics to

get through life, right? Whether or not

they're from full-blood, half-blood, or from

muggle families - kids need to know these

kinds of things.

So yes, I would so send my child

to school up until they turned eleven!

Then I'd hope they'd be in Ravenclaw

or Gryffindor...You know....because I was

in Ravenclaw and all.

Great Question!!!

~
well,am sure hermione went 2 prep/pre school till she got her letter.

i'd put them in a wizard school. not muggle.they may not learn 2 control magical tendencies in a normal way, could lead 2 serious exposure of d wizarding world.
Hell no because they need to know magic.
Hola, well first off if i was a wizarding family then my kids would be around all the magic and stuff so it would be really weird sending them to a muggle school. And its kind of like the Weasleys isn't? They didn't go to school at all until their letters came from Hogwarts. So i guess witches and wizards don't go to school until they hit Hogwarts. I would keep them at home until they can go to Hogwarts. So the muggle school would definitely be a no....

But if i was a muggle and i married a wizard then i guess I'd send them to a muggle school until they get of the age to go to Hogwarts. Why? Because I'd want them to live a muggle life until they were able to go to Hogwarts and use magic. Hopefully they won't be called ';freak'; at the muggle school if anything weird happened, like harry (jumping off of rooftops)
Since i am a muggle if my children showed signs of magic i would home school. If they showed no signs i would send them to public school...
No I wouldn't because I would want my kids to be able to achieve their potentials and a muggle school cant provide them with magical education. Also the wizard's world is so much better and more creative.
I'd start my kids out in a muggle school, then send them off to a wizarding one. ^_^

That way they get to see both sides of the world.
Sure, they should learn about math and stuff!
no f****ing way....
I would definitely send them to a wizarding school.
