I just married a woman she has a child living with her X. She has never paid child support, can he sue me 4$?

I ran out of space, can her X-husband sue me for child support? I am not trying to adopt him.I just married a woman she has a child living with her X. She has never paid child support, can he sue me 4$?
She never paid child support for her kid?? How sad.

Yeah, since you are married to her now, you can both be sued for back child support. I would get a lawyer right now.I just married a woman she has a child living with her X. She has never paid child support, can he sue me 4$?
I guess she wasn't arrested on Mother's Day, with all the media recording it, like all the other deadbeat moms were arrested like they do to dads on Father's Day.

He can't sue you directly, but community property and/or joint account/assets can be taken. Also, depending on your state, her support can be increased by taking into account your income. Also, this can affect your credit rating.

I wouldn't recommend having any children with her.
Legally, you have no financial responsibility for the child unless that child is yours. You cannot be sued for unpaid child support. The court can however, come after your wife for the unpaid support, and they can use such means as garnishing her wages, seizing welfare or unemployment benefits (if she receives them), seizing tax refunds %26amp; yes, the ex can sue your WIFE (not you) for child support. So....while you are safe from any kind of garnishments %26amp; lawsuits, your wife is not.
They can't do anything to you but yes they can come after her for back child support the only way you can be affected if you have a joint checking or savings account they can garnish the money in there and any property that they can get to satisfy the back child support.

Now i and you should be asking the same big question Why isn't she paying child support? My friend they will get it! Because she owes it and it cost money to raise children. Good Luck!
No. If you are not the legal guardian or biological parent the court does not hold you liable for the health and welfare of the child. However! If your wife suffer the ramifications of child support then you will also through her. And there is no suing just garnishing of wages toward the parent in arrears in accordance with federal law. Good Luck
Marriage means that both parties assume most of the financial responsibilities of each other, jointly. Most of the responsibilities, not all. The ex probably CAN sue both of you. I assume that he hasn't sued the mother because she doesn't have the $. But now there is your $. He'll sue, for sure.
These people have no idea what they are talking about. NO he CANNOT sue you for child support as you are not financially responsible for her child, BUT they can and will go after her and it will effect you financially. She'll probably just get her wages garnished.
have you seen the free credit report.com commercial on tv, you know the one we he got married and now lives in her parents basement? well, you know take partial financial responsibility of her just like she does with you, unless you have a pre-nup stating otherwise.
He can't sue you, but he can sue her. If you guys have any joint assets, bank accounts, etc, that is how it will affect you those can be garnished.
child support if he sews her and since you now share money, because your money is now both of your money, then if he sews her the money might come from you
Yes, he can, unfortunately.
no but they can go after her and it will affect you. she should pay her child support if she loves her child.
wierd situation idk
no just her !!
