I am a late 30s old spinster handmaid. Where I work I love to provide outstanding service to my customers. I've had women customers comment to me saying: ';Oh, you'll get married soon, and you'll see that special someone.'; Or another one I worked for said out of the blue: ';Don't worry, you'll find the right one.'; You won't be single for long.';
I mean that is nice and all but they just say it out of the blue and for no reason. I can't stand it when people try to predict my future. Because I wouldn't predict someone elses. I would never say it to a unmarried girl. Obviously she is unmarried for a good reason. Your thoughts.......
I ask this in MEN';S Section, because do men say this to single men too?Why Do Married Women Comment On My Singleness?
No, in my experience men do not say this kind of comment to each other. Single males without girlfriends are instead teased as someone who ';can't get any';.
I'd guess the women are saying this to you as a compliment on how well you do your job, using the traditional notion that someone who can run a good household will be attractive to men.Why Do Married Women Comment On My Singleness?
Why does everyone ';have'; to get married. My sister is 55, never been married and totally loves the freedom that her single lifestyle has given her. Try telling these folks -- ';thanks for your comment, but I'm happy with who I am and I'm not looking for anyone.'; If you are secure in who you are -- why must you be concerned with anything else. Be happy the way you are.
