Why is my little sister obsessed with married men?

My little sister has just turned 18 but by about 16 she wanted married men I know she has been with a few and it has never worked out I try to tell her it is wrong and she is never going to get more than a fling out of it but she doesn't listen Is there any way I can make her realise?Why is my little sister obsessed with married men?

She is interested in married men because they are safe ie they are already taken so if it does not work out in the relationship she can always blame the fact they were married. sounds like she has self esteem and commitment problems. Going out with a normal single guy would properly be classed as too risky for her as she may feel more rejected if they dump her. With a married man, she can always find a reason if it fails.


Its a shame you haven't got photos of the family behind these married men as maybe it would shake her up.ie seeing that there maybe kids involved.


She is very young though, so hopefully she may grow out of it, but it is strange at her age to be interested in older men. Just talk to her, if not write down how you feel so she has a reminder on paper.


A photo of someone real, like an ex and his family may shock her into action.

There isnt that much you can do, but maybe relate the feeling someone close to her loosing their husband to another woman maybe say ask her what she would feel like if she was happily married with kids and some young girl took her husband off her and completely broke down the family or maybe even say what would you feel like if someone did it to me (meaning you).
Perhaps she has ';daddy'; issues. She's way too young to boinking married men. Just remind her what goes around, comes around.
Well, when someones wife shoots her, she'll learn. Or when she ends up knocked up by a man who ditches her the second he finds out...
some people only learn by making their own mistakes. she needs to find out why she feels like she needs to steal somebody else's man. She will only cause herself and others a lot of pain and heartache.
Let her learn by her own mistakes
some people want what they cannot have. The thrill perhaps ? Hopefully she will not get into trouble.
