What does it take to be married without a ceremony?

I live in Tennessee. And my boyfriend who is in the Army is stationed at Fort Campbell, in Kentucky. We want to be married but we do not have the money to have a ceremony right now. What do we have to do to be married without the ceremony? And is there a way for me to just do it? All help would be wonderful. Thanks much. What does it take to be married without a ceremony?
Go to City Hall. They will still require you to have a ceremony though. What does it take to be married without a ceremony?
Just call up your local county clerk's office, and they will give you the marriage requirements for your state. Then just go down to the courthouse and apply for a marriage license, and if there is no mandatory waiting period in Kentucky, have the justice of the peace marry you right there. The whole thing takes about 20 minutes and costs about $20.

And whatever you do, PLEASE don't be one of those people who throws a ';wedding'; a whole year after you actually get married- I really hate that new ';tradition'; where these people think they can still wear the big white dress and have a do-over wedding just because they only had a courthouse wedding when they got married. If the courthouse isn't going to be enough for you, I suggest you wait to get married until you can afford the wedding you want. But if the courthouse is enough, then good for you, and have a lovely wedding day.
no you two have to be together you cant just do it on your own. there has to be a justice of peace of officiant, a marraige license and 2 witnesses. and in some states a blood test done.
Marriage certificate and Justice of the Peace plus two witnesses.
