Getting married soon and wanted a few surprised for the guests so they leave going wow that was pretty cool?

Let me know of your experience and anything extra that was done that made you remember the wedding!Getting married soon and wanted a few surprised for the guests so they leave going wow that was pretty cool?
Your wedding will be a pretty cool and memorable if the following takes place:

- The ceremony is on time.

- You keep the ceremony to about a half hour.

- You keep the ceremony and reception in one location (if possible) to make travelling convenient for your guests.

- You don't keep guests waiting long between the ceremony and the reception.

- You serve delicious food at the reception (whether it's sit-down or buffet.)

- You have an open bar instead of a cash bar.

- You keep the toasts to a minimum.

- You play good dance music.

- You make sure the wedding cake is delicious.

- You make sure the bathrooms are in convenient locations and that there are enough.

Think about all the weddings you've attended that lacked the above essentials. Little surprises won't matter if your wedding lacks the essentials. Your guests will definitely walk away with a positive feeling thinking, ';Wow, that was a well- planned and organized wedding'; if all of this takes place. Don't fall into the trap of feeling that you have to do a bunch of extra stuff (fireworks, marching bands, etc.) to entertain your guests in order for them to enjoy your wedding. Keep it simple and good and your guests will love it!Getting married soon and wanted a few surprised for the guests so they leave going wow that was pretty cool?
-Fireworks Show (%26amp; pass out glow sticks, they look great in the pictures after wards)

-Choreographed Bride and Groom and Bridal Party Dance

-Photo Booth

-Candy Bar

-Live Band Performance (I saw the groom have a band come in a play a special song for his wife)

-Marching band (we saw a marching band lead in the bridal party and they did a small performance, it was awesome!)

-Give away the Centerpieces

-Hire a caricature artist

-I've seen hay rides and horse drawn carriage rides, which is nice and fun but I always hated that it took the guests away from the reception, unless you just offer it in the break between the ceremony and the reception, then I think it's fun!

But what I love most of all is when a bride and groom make it their own, when you get to see their personality and you walk away thinking, wow that was thought out and done really well. We have a conference center (Horizons) here that does a lot of weddings and I think the worst is walking away from one going ';Oh yep another ';Horizons'; wedding.'; I love to see that they've taken extra time to do personal touches, like their dances or the favors are personalized not just some random favor etc. So most importantly make it your own and people will walk away going WOW that was a great wedding! Good Luck!!!
I think that the music is a big thing that makes a wedding stand out. Personalize your cake cutting, garter toss, bouquet toss, maybe even your recessional song when exiting the ceremony.

Another would be to get the guest involved. Have them request songs, make toasts, etc. Just get everyone involved to make it memorable.
Well... surprises are allways appreciated...

Can you find a celebrity to show up during the reception dinner... totally walking in while your eating?

If you can get the dining room staff to pull a prank on some of your guests with junk food... like someone getting a plate full of ';white Castle'; hamburgers

Tape a coupon to the bottom one plate at each table. that person gets the table setting.

Cool to some may mean stupid to others, or not in good taste.

Google search for ';wedding reception games';... that should get you started.

there are some that I cant mention that some think are in bad taste. they may come up in your answers from others.

congratulations :)
The company I work for host an annual conference and I attend each year. Last years (Jan 08) we hired for the evening some wine waiters who basically poured the wine for the 800 delegates; however these were not just any normal wine waiters - all 4 of them were amazing opera singers and they started singing songs such as Nessun Dorma etc - All our customers were amazed how good they were and we got some excellent feedback. Hope that helps
What I have seen at 2 weddings is a photo booth. You rent the booth and it is free for your guests to take pictures of themselves in the booth. And the guests leave a few pictures of themselves as a guest book.
