What is the difference between the word committed and married in English is it mean the same thing?

If we're talking about a relationship, it's not the same thing.

Committed can also mean engaged, or very in a very steady relationship. If you trying to get involved with a person who claims to be committed to another, it's time to give-up. It implies that the committed person wants to be in the committed situation.

Married is just that, married. Some people will get into relationships (';cheat';) even if they're married to someone else. Sometimes they throw the M word out there just to let you know what you're getting into. What is the difference between the word committed and married in English is it mean the same thing?

Committed means that you are dedicated to making a relationship work.

Married means that there is a legal document that you have chosen a person to be a husband or wife, with all the benefits of that union.

You can be committed without being married.

You can be married and not comitted to making the marriage work. That's the cornerstone of divorce.

Hope that helps!
Committed could be applied to anything. While marriage only pertains to a man and a woman engaging into marriage!
Morally speaking, marriage asks for committment. But it is seen that, they both do not go together.
wen u use committed it means u are reallly serious abt ur relationship. It describes ur state of mind.

Marriage is a relationship ...but committed holds a stronger position.
Marriage in the most true sense, is a covenant, a contract by a man and woman to love and honor one another a life time (read the marriage vow), this would be the highest level of commitment between two humans.

Unfortunately, the true meaning of marriage is diluted in many context because people are not committed enough to one another and there is not enough love for another. This doesn't mean there are no marriages in the world that are working according to the true ideal.

Interestingly, the word ';commit'; means ';to be bound';. It means you stick to your pledge to be bound to someone, whether it is convenient to you or not.

Nowadays, most people prefer convenience to commitment. They come together because of convenience and come apart because of inconvenience.

There are other relationships that call for commitment besides marriage, but the commitment is not as high relatively.
