Getting Married at the Statue of Liberty:


Obtain a permit from 212-363-3206. There is no fee.





Plan your wedding to be held during the normal hours of operation.





Parties and catering are not allowed on Liberty Island, so the wedding reception must be held elsewhere.





There are so many hotels---the Plaza, the Waldorf-Astoria

When I was researching places to marry last year, I took home lots of wedding brochures from the travel agents. I clearly remember that New York was amongst these wedding destinations, and there were many locations, from memory I remember Central park being one, and I'm pretty sure another was a helicopter flight.





I suggest you make the travel agent your first port of call, as I'm sure if they are conducting marriages there, they will be certainly do renewal of vows. Good luck, I think it is a wonderful and romantic gesture.
