Two married filipinos came here on a work contract but decided to stay for a family Can they have a baby here?

They have no citizenship because they do not have enough papers to get one, but they want to stay in order to have a baby and start a life here, they are worried about getting kicked out of the country if the woman becomes pregnant, so if anyone has any idea, plz!Two married filipinos came here on a work contract but decided to stay for a family Can they have a baby here?
Kabayan!

If you are in the US under a working visa H1B visa or better, meaning you and your spouse is under such visa (or your spouse may be under a dependent visa of H1B visa holder), having a baby is not an offense. You can legally have a baby in the US, since you have work to support your family.

A H1B visa can be converted to an immigrant visa after some considerable length of time, I think it is around 3-5 years.

You do not have to worry that you will be deported. You came there as married (perhaps) and having a baby is just so normal and legal, there will be no repercussions on you being pregnant. The child will be a US Citizen, under the virtue of jus soli principle.

However, if your work contract or your visa expired and you stayed illegally, (overstaying after any visa expired), then I am afraid you will be facing deportation proceedings. IN this case, consult a reputable immigration lawyer.

Take care and God bless! Two married filipinos came here on a work contract but decided to stay for a family Can they have a baby here?
Employment passes/work permits are temporary and do not allow for change of status to immigrant-class visas. If they leave their employer or the visa term expires, they must immediately leave the US and return home. If they do not leave, they become subject to deportation and a bar to re-entry.

Have a baby? It will be entitled to citizenship in the parents' country of citizenship, so they should get a Philippines passport for it right away so they can take it with them when they are deported.

It is not a matter of ';enough'; papers -- these two do not have the right kind of papers and can only get the right kind by returning home to the Philippines and applying for immigration. Get in line.
Why thumbs down for bounce ? He is right. He gave the correct answer.

@Lori you recently lectured me about not understanding the question clearly - maybe this time it is my turn and I just wanna tell you the asker didn't mention that this couple is illegal. They are in the country on a working visa :)
You don't get kicked out for getting pregnant. However, you might want to get your citizenship started as soon as you can.
You can't stay here illegally --no. You can be deported at any time, whether pregnant or not and then you can be banned from returning.
Having a baby wont help, if anything will make it worse, that is what I always say...Don't be ignorant please become legal before having babies and you wont ruin their lifes.
They should leave immediately to avoid deportation.
